– Life is normal at work
Cooperation and adaptation are the path to good health and decent work for everyone. Our colleague Steinar Stoen thinks it’s good to keep your “work fitness” up.
Steinar Stoen has been through a serious bout of cancer, and has since struggled with exhaustion from treatment. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the capacity to work; on the contrary!
– “We just had to work on our ‘work fitness’ together,” he smiles.
Through collaboration withFretex and our employees, Apurgo believes in organization, dialogue and a working environment that facilitates physical activity. This is the path to good health and decent work for all.
Work with meaning
Steinar has worked as a production employee at Apurgo for two years. With a mechanical background, good technical understanding and an infectious smile, he has been an important part of the team since day one.
– Steinar reminds us why we work with water treatment and what it actually means,” says Lise Marie Nergaard, CEO of Apurgo.

Apurgo works to ensure people’s health by treating water in an innovative and sustainable way. Steinar is one of the many people we do this for.
Weakened immune systems and underlying diseases are often the reason why people become seriously ill and, in the worst case, die fromlegionellosis. This is particularly true for cancer patients. It’s good to have an extra focus on this now in November, when the Swedish Cancer Society is focusing on men and health.
– “Creating systems that make everyday life safe is great. Especially for those who are particularly vulnerable. So it’s extra great that the systems I create are installed in several hospitals around the country,” concludes Steinar.
For those who think that this may be something for their own organization, we would like to quote Elin Stoermann-Næss, Special Advisor at the Norwegian Cancer Society:
“Many cancer patients who return to work become very loyal employees – they need to show that they can contribute and do not jump to new jobs so quickly.”
